The Yoga New Zealand Membership year runs from 1 October through to the following 30th September of the next year.

Once you have completed the application we will have this in for processing for 7-10 working days. If we require any further information we will contact you during this period.

At this stage our form has the one payment option of making payment via Credit Card – if this is an issue please contact us to arrange other payment options before proceeding with the application.

Membership Renewal – $135.00

Membership Renewal & Insurance Cover – $243.00

What you will need for this application:

In the application we will ask for information on:

– your contact details

– whether you have completed your Continuing Professional Development (CPD)

– if relevant, updates to your Yoga Teacher training towards progressing your membership level

– any updates on your First Aid Certificate

If also applying as a Yoga Therapist Member we will also ask for information on:

– your Yoga Therapist Training and experience

– copies of your Yoga Teacher Training Certificates and completed Yoga Therapist mapping curriculum document if applicable

Do you have any changes to your contact details?

If you have changed your name AND it is different from the name of you qualification(s) we would need evidence of the name change to issue the REPs Registration in your new name.

Marriage/Civil Union Change – If you have changed your name via marriage or civil union we ask for a copy of your certificate.

Deed Poll – If you have changed your name via deed poll we ask for the applicable name change documents showing the name change.

CPD, and additional training to record?

– Each year we would ask for 10 CPD points to be completed to maintain your membership.

Want to add additional teaching or training hours to your membership ?

Please use this section for adding additional training hours to your membership – the additional hours will be reviewed with your previous applications for consideration to upgrade your level.

Yoga New Zealand has the option for you to also be a Yoga Therapist Member.

Yoga Therapy Membership requires the completion of specific training in Yoga Therapy.

Specific training to become a yoga therapist is to have a minimum of 650 hours over a minimum of 2 years. This is in addition to a solid foundation in yoga teaching to include a minimum of: 350 hours of training over 2 years, 300 hours of regular yoga teaching, and a regular personal practice of 2 years.

If we also require a verification through an independent assessor a fee of $99.00 may also apply for this process – we will review your application once received to determined if this will be needed.

Yoga New Zealand membership has the requirement to hold and maintain a Comprehensive First Aid certificate.

With your YogaNZ Membership you can hold insurance to cover your Yoga Teaching – this is through arrangement with the NZ Register of Exercise Professionals (NZ REPs) to access insurance at an affordable rate.

• Public Liability
• Statutory Liability
