Jesse Burns

After dabbling in yoga for a few years, I fell into a regular practice in 2008 as a postgraduate student looking to stretch my stiff body and ease my overloaded mind. What was once a weekly reprieve from the computer quickly became an integral part of my life, and my earliest teachers inspired me to complete my RYT-200 certification with my local US-based studio in 2013. As a life-long student, I’ve continued to pursue additional study with Jason Crandell, Noah Mazé, Desirée Rumbaugh, and Ross Rayburn, and completed my RYT-500 certification with Tiffany Cruikshank and Yoga Medicine in 2020.

I approach my own practice with curiosity, and am fascinated by the intersection of modern science and research with traditional experiential-based practices. I aim to offer opportunities for exploration, growth, and release to my students, and really enjoying blending styles of hatha, vinyasa, and restorative yoga as well as pranayama and self-myofascial release techniques in my classes. I include elements of mindful alignment and the connection movement with breath to create a balance of action and surrender.
